Fancy yourself working in the UK Resort as a Pool Lifeguard?
New Zealand Lifeguards are in high demand overseas, and with Kiwis growing up surrounded by water - we make excellent candidates for this job.
We provide you with a oneway or return airfare to the UK, information on applying for the correct visa, airport transfer, and a pre-arranged job in a resort once you complete UK Lifeguard Training. Jobs include live-in accommodation.
The program fee also includes our services in helping you open a UK Bank Account and getting an NHS number plus a SIM card.
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Over the age of 18 years old
- Have a working holiday visa or British Passport
- Have enough money to support themselves until their first full pay cheque (this can be up to 3 weeks after arrival therefore we recommend £300)
Also you must meet the following criteria to attend the Lifeguard training on arrival in the UK:
- Jump/dive into deep water
- Swim 50 metres in no more than 60 seconds
- Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water, tread water for 30 seconds
- Surface dive to the floor of the pool (typically less than 2 metres)
- Climb out unaided without ladder/steps and where the pool design permits
All candidates arriving to the UK will be picked up from their arrival destination by a representative and taken to an approved training centre to commence the Royal Life Saving Society, National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) This is a 5 day programme during which time you will be given accommodation, lunch and an evening meal.
Once you have successfully completed the NPLQ you will be transferred to one of 80 Holiday resorts within the UK, these resorts are all near major tourist areas.
Lifeguards will be paid a minimum of £5 per hour and given a minimum of 39 hours, however there is the opportunity to work more, also within other departments such as bars/catering. You will be paid on a fortnightly basis and must work 1 week in arrears, government taxes will be deducted.
Shared accommodation is provided for a charge of about £30 a week inclusive of heating and electricity.
Edge Leisure (UK training providers) charge £250 for UK Lifeguard training and transport of all candidates, this is payable in full on arrival to the UK or they can set up a deduction from your first pays over an maximum of eight weeks. The training fee is non-refundable.

The contract of employment is offered from 1st April till the 31st October (or from the date of arrival to 31st October). We recruit all year round.
