NANNYING IN AMERICA

Nannies Abroad™ was the first nanny agency in New Zealand to send nannies to USA legally - that was in 1996 so we are extremely experienced.  We only send nannies overseas - we don't place them in New Zealand so we dedicate our time to finding you the perfect job!

We will find you a job with a screened family, before you leave New Zealand. Once placed we will arrange your flights, sponsor your visa and help you get everything you need ready before you leave.

Flights to USA depart from Auckland every two weeks so you get to choose when to go. You choose your family and we provide you with example questions to ask during the phone interview - so that you can make a good decision about your Host Family.

It's free to apply but you must meet the minimum application criteria. You must be aged 18-26 years old for the US Visa. Unfortunately there are no exceptions to this rule.

There are two levels of jobs and pay depending on your experience and or qualifications. Have a look and see which one you can apply for.

1. Au Pair in America - For those with at least 200 hours experience - this option is perfect if you don't have an approved nanny qualification or have less than 2 years full-time childcare experience. You could be placed in a job where one parent is at home some of the time, or in a sole charge position - depending on your level of experience or qualification.
   
2. Au Pair Extraordinaire - If you have a Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education 0-3), or CACHE DCE – Diploma in Childcare & Education (formerly NNEB), or National Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (NZQA level 7),  or NZ National Nanny Certificate (NZQA Level 5) plus one year full-time childcare experience, or Bachelor of Education (Teaching) Primary or ECE Level, or the HATNZ Certificate in Childcare

We work with Au Pair in America - a legal cultural exchange programme to USA. Based in London, Au Pair in America have been placing nannies and Mothers Helps in USA since 1986. Au Pair in America is the biggest, most experienced,  and the first agency approved by the US Government to send nannies and Mothers Helps to America with the Au Pair Programme. We work very closely with staff in London to ensure your year in America is trouble free and organised.

The word 'au pair' may be new to you but it is merely a description of the type of cultural exchange visa - you will be placed according to your skills and qualifications. For example a qualified nanny can expect a sole charge position with higher pay than someone with only babysitting experience.
