Au Pair in The Netherlands

We'll find you a job in the Netherlands - your return flights, insurance and visa are paid for!

The deal - and boy it's great!

  • We have some lovely families wanting NZ au pairs in Holland (The Netherlands).
  • Everyone speaks English there - so no worries about the language barrier - children start learning English at age 8
  • Mostly they ride bikes everywhere so you won't need a licence, but you will need some babysitting and or childcare experience and some references to prove this.
  • Applicants from New Zealand aged 18-25  can go to the Netherlands for up to one year.
  • Soon after arrival the family will take you to the city hall to apply for the visa - this process is paid for by the family.
  • You can enter the Netherlands for a holiday for up to 3 months before applying for an au pair visa.
  • Au Pair visas in the Netherlands are only valid for 1 year as it is considered a cultural exchange program and can not be extended.
  • You - as an au pair receive 340 euro per month (this is livable) with a max of 30 hours per week.
  • You will have airfares, visa, insurance, board and lodging paid for by host family
  • You will be provided with a mobile with 15 euro per month, discount on travel and access to a computer with skype so you can call home for free.

The Visa

  • You must take an original birth certificate with a certified copy, no older than 6 months, a police certificate (we can get this for you) and a certificate to say you have never been married or had children. These then all must be certified by a JP before you leave NZ.
  • You will also need 2 passport photos for the visa.
  • The costs of these certificates, certification, and photos are at your expense.

We charge;

  • Application Fee $150 - this can be transferred to any of our other Nannies Abroad or IWH programmes if you are not offered a job in the Netherlands.
  • A Program fee of $399 once placed. This is payable 7 days after placement.
  • You'll save about $2500 (aifares) and $900 (insurance) heading to Holland with us - it's a fabulous choice

The Process

  • You fill in the application forms and send to us with the items on the Checklist (last page of application form)
  • We interview you and make up a report for the family and email it to our Partner in The Netherlands
  • They will contact you and perhaps talk to you on SKYPE before introducing you to a family
  • You will call/email/Skype the family
  • If you are happy and the family offer you the job we will offer you the placement
  • Once placement is confirmed in writing you need to pay your Program Fee and your flights are then organised
  • You need to organise the documents to take for your visa application - and pack.
